Big Guns of Combat Sports in India form Strategic Alliance

Nasik , India July 25th , 2014 - The All India Mixed Martial Arts Association [ AIMMAA] Association Of Mixed Martial Arts India (AMMAI) officially announced today that it has entered a long-term strategic alliance with the Ju-Jitsu Association of India [ JAI ] , the SAMBO Federation of India [SFI] and the India Federation of Pankration Athlima [ IFPA] . Whilst JU-JITSU and Russian SAMBO are century old mixed martial art combat sports, recognized by the Olympic Council of Asia and by the SportAccord, the ancient Olympic sport of PANKRATION is hailed as the root of modern day MMA and is included in the SportAccord World Combat Games under FILA. All three Combat sports form the foundation of MMA.
This landmark Combat Sport Alliance was formed to pursue a set of agreed upon objectives, whilst ensuring at the same time the autonomy and independence of each of the aforesaid national martial sports federations. This announcement was made after detailed meetings between top level board members of all four NSF, which was held over three days from the 23rd to the 25th of July 2014 at Nashik , Maharashtra. The goal of this alliance is to provide a common umbrella for our national amateur MMA fighters, empowering them to participate and compete in all the globally recognized national and international SAMBO, JU- JITSU and PANKRATION events , and to enable all exponents of Pankration, SAMBO and Ju-Jitsu to jointly partake in all Annual National MMA events in the country , with the ultimate aim to pave the way for a seamless entry of our talented amateur MMA athletes into the lucrative Professional MMA global arena.
“At the end of the day if we are able to give the amateur fighters an active circuit within India to test and hone their skills we will be able to set the right stage and open the doors to international opportunities for future pro level athletes” said Mr. Jitu Jain, President of the AIMMAA.
"I fully endorse this synergy we now have with the AIMMAA , as it will nurture the talents all budding MMA athletes across our Nation and for the first time apply the much needed focus on their future career prospects ” said Grand Master Suresh Gopi, President of South Asian SAMBO and National president of JAI . Mr Gopi went on to say that extensive training opportunities will offered in the near future for our National Martial Athletes , Referees and Coaches by globally certified International Instructors.
Master Daniel Isaac renowned National MMA pioneer and founder of the AIMMAA , expressed his unstinted support for this Alliance announced that Mr. Alan Fenandes, the co- founder of AIMMAA and leading BJJ exponent in the country, was recently unanimously elected as the Vice President [ West Zone ] of the Ju-Jitsu Association of India.

Farewell SFL !

I have officially resigned as CEO of the Super Fight League - India hits hard , the journey with the SFL was a high point of my career and every step of the way was a super cool experience , I have re-taken my position with the All India Mi...xed Martial Arts Association [ formerly known as the Association Of Mixed Martial Arts India (AMMAI) and I have re-started my former business as CEO of Tigers Gym & Fight Club , as always I believe that the journey has just begun.
